Intro
Welcome to Ck Network! A central hub for
everything that interests me.
World Wide News Blog - Now trying to buy laptop I'm now in the process of getting a new laptop, so I will be able to do a lot more on trips and at school. That also means web administration will go up, and more recent blog entries. In other news, I have chosen a WWII themed homepage for Ck Network, that will remain up until about Christmas of next year, or whenever I get tired of the game Wolfenstein, Enemy Territory! EDIT: This just in. The sad closing of TWL has depressed ET players all over the world. I now bring you the complete post of what's happened: Originally posted by: The Grateful Dead 4 years ago (almost to the day), teams across North America played the first week of matches in TWL's inaugural Enemy Territory League. In many ways, it didn't look at all like the ET played over the past few seasons. 7v7 teams dueled it out using stock settings for recharge rates, heavy weapons, and on the original versions of maps like Fuel Dump and Goldrush. Even with the oft-painful settings, it was ET. There were the strats, the scrims, the lotto nades and kneecap rage, the spawn camps and clutch revives, and the heart-pounding doc runs through enemy crossfire. We've come a long way since then - we've tuned the settings and team size, tuned the strats, modified maps, and created other new ones from scratch. The ET community grew by leaps and bounds, both in competition, and in lively pub play. It's therefore with much sadness that I announce today the closing of Enemy Territory Competition at TWL. With the convergence of RL timings for admins, the massive AC effort required to support the game, and the impending release (Oct 2) of ET:QW, the many signs have aligned to show us that it's time to hang up our Thompsons, at least for league nights. Ladders will remain open until at least September 1. If participation looks good, we'll possibly look at continuing them past that point. There are countless people to thank for making the many years of TWL competition possible, enjoyable, and exciting - the best place to play ET (we believe) around. The many admins who gave of their time and talent (and sometimes, money) - from Skeeter, ND80 (who gave more to this game than anyone), Skeeve, Cheeler, Digm, sponge, Pagan, TDawg, and many more to the great anti-cheat staff members who worked their tails off to keep this game playable long after it should have been - Digm, prophet, Whoops, and others. However, the most thanks from us (TWL) goes out to the players. We could have organized the greatest league in history, but without the energy, dedication, and camaraderie of the players, none of this would have been nearly as successful (or as much fun). You all came up with the strategies, the clutch plays, the maps, the crazy scrims, and the ggs at the end. That is what will be missed the most. I hope to see many of you in our ET:QW competitions, which will be coming soon (TM). Until then, keep your head up, and don't forget to gib. - D
